THE SUNLIGHT'S ANGLE IS MAKING THE LAKE SO BEAUTIFUL

Dripping Gold

We usually walk around the lake after 1:00 or so.  As the time changes, I might change the time we walk and do it earlier.  But...this time of
year the sun's reflections on the water is beautiful.  I take a lot of photos of ducks coming in for a landing as Mike is putting food out for them.

I'll eventually do a thread for myself to look back on - which will be just flying ducks.

I haven't been posting much as I'm either busy with my art stuff in the morning and then we are out quite awhile in the afternoon and by evening i lose interest in posting.

Cormorants on their island

At the end of summer our lake receded somewhat so now the cormorants have an island they hang out on.  There have been a lot of them at the lake again. 

PAINTED LADIES ARE BACK IN TOWN

 When we moved here a year ago they were all over the place and then they disappeared.  Here it is a year later and they are beginning to show up again. So this must be a migration route possibly.

HESPERIA LAKE

I've always thought of this lake as a dirty little lake in the high desert.  When I take photos they always turn out pretty.  I did nothing to this photo but add a light touch of contrast. I love the patterns in this.

And some guy did a manipulation of the photo by putting in the shark.

PELICANS IN MILL VALLEY

As you drive along the freeway off to the side you see pelicans and other shore birds on little islands of land.  Here are a few shots of them along with cormorants and some little type of bird which I'm not sure what they are.

I love the photo where the pelican and cormorant are having a serious issue about something.

i love these poses.  Took a lot so i have a choice of poses to sketch.

LITTLE WHITE HERON

Just putting a few of several photos i took of this "yoga heron" - that's a hint for the next photos later. 

Beautiful weather and lots of photos being taken. 

Lots of birds around also.

In fact, in a few minutes I'm going to walk along a path where birds hang out - shore birds mostly.
