A FEW THINGS I SAW YESTERDAY LOOKING AROUND MY YARD

I'm really enjoying the evidence of spring all about.  I took a lot of photos yesterday and today will walk the lake again and then drive to a different area to see what's blooming.

SCENES AROUND THE LAKE

Not that I don't have hundreds of bird photos I haven't posted - but i'll post these from our walk today.  I love the iridescent blues on the blackbird.

LAST OCTOBER - BAY AREA - SPARROW IN APPLE TREE

This is the same apple tree that the deer like to eat off of.

I never see these Gold crowned sparrows in our yard - and have only seen them up at my son's house.

If I remember - these were taken early morning when sun was coming up.  I wake up real early there - not only for the kids but it feels so good to see the sun break through the fog that rolls up from the bay.  It's a magical time of morning.

We seem to go there every October to watch the kids while their parents are at a seminar.  I'm hoping we can do it again this year.  I always enjoy my stay up there.

It takes me awhile but I eventually get photos posted from all my trips - .... It's only been five months since I took these.

HOUSE SPARROW SEEN DOWNTOWN BEND

One of my favorite species of sparrows - they're always seen downtown or they particularly love hanging out at MacDonald's.

I have never seen one in my yard.

I think they prefer french fries over gourmet bird seed.

PIGEON VISIT

We have been having about 25 pigeons come by in the morning for their breakfast.  Evidently other people in the area talk on a forum i go to about the pigeons.  It seems like their numbers have been increasing and they show up in a huge crowd to their yards.  Here's a few yesterday that came by.  I think they are a nuisance but they have such sweet faces that I can't resist letting them stay for a bit and eat before we wave them away.
