Cloudy skies have cleared up and the fog in the mornings are no more (for now). Within a month or so the monsoon weather will start which will bring gorgeous skies but humidity. We have been able to get out on our walks and enjoy this gorgeous weather. The ducks are scarce right now (probably tending to their babies), only a few coots remain and the most activity I've seen lately are the herons.
A trip over to Lake Arrowhead yesterday revealed some mallards and the six geese that hang out there - ...and one seagull. I will make a trip to Hesperia lake soon and expect to find all the birds including the pelicans hanging out over there.
Either the herons or the cormorants take turns hanging out on that post in the middle of the lake. They switch shifts evidently and this particular day the post belonged to the heron. I've spotted two different herons so far and no white egrets yet.

Beautful pics! I think all of the pelicans in the world are over at Shell Beach on the rocks in the ocean which are white with poop and stink to high heaven! We were just there today and they are everywhere! Love seeing herons anywhere! Did you mean to say white egrets or white pelicans?
Meant to mention the photo of the heron in flight...wow! that's beautiful! good catch!
White egrets - ...which is the same evidently as white herons. White pelicans are usually at Hesperia this time of year. They will come back in about August - about nine of them will be here then and stay for about a month or more.
I wish the background had been different - the heron blends in with those gray rocks. also - elsewhere u asked if J sold the house - yes they and should be moved by 21st. they are there this weekend in Washington looking at several houses they have on a list. They will buy not rent. They will probably stay in Idaho until their escrow in Washington closes. or at least send the kids there ...The houses they are looking at are shall I say.............gorgeous.awesome... on several acres and lots of room for family.
Wow, I hope they find the perfect place! That sale didn't take long, but I didn't expect it to either.
