A FEW MORE PELICANS ....NOT PENGUINS....

Today's pelican pics ..

I really enjoyed watching these guys and I love the first pic - it looks like he is already setting the stage for a little mating to go on - ...he's bold and beautiful and I'm guessing the one he has his wing around might be a female ...or male... who knows but it is mating season for them or then again ...I just caught him stretching which he probably is doing.

The structures below I think are some kind of high desert museum but I have never seen any access open to go into them

You certainly have to bring a chair to this place (I would) and take more photographs of these beautiful birds. The first photo made me laugh, the pelican in the middle is dancing and giving a hug to another pelican next to him. That is so great!!! And on some photos pelicans are having serious conversations. Wonderful!

Hi Kaya - oh yes bringing a chair for sure - also around the same area we discovered that there is a tiny little lake called "Pelican Lake" which is in the next town over i think. When we go back next week we will check that place out and see if there are some there.

thanks for "enjoying" my pics.

Great captures of the Pelican "village" where they all come and gather for various pelicany type get-togethers. And those buildings.....I LOVE the way they look!!!

Laura, years ago there was no fence there and there was a building you could get close to and it seems that it was going to be a little museum. Things have changed somewhat since you've been there. they now have a memory garden for vets and that's a nice thing.

I would like to visit that area next time I come to visit!

The pelicans have a very nice feather and are very quiet. Pleasant photos with details and angles.
