IN LESS THAN A MONTH

I'll be at the central coast, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Cayucos and beyond ... for Thanksgiving - and seeing family.  My sister always "hosts" us for the days we are there.  She's a gem, a great cook, fun to be around and my brother in law's dry sense of humor is still funny after all these years.

I will definitely be hanging out in this area on the beach where the cliffs are in the mornings before heading out every day to find places of interest for photography and walking.  I love the Central Coast of California.  In the fall the morning sun lights up the beach so beautifully.

I love the mountains where I live but being at the coast is a totally different experience.  However, in the fall, when the sun sets over the ocean if we are on the Rim Hwy traveling around out mountain area, the ocean is lit up in the distance as the sun sets over the water. Using the zoom on my camera  over 75 miles away is the Southern California Coast so it's amazing to me that we can see the ocean.

Feathers of soft white
Crabs and crustaceans abound
birds delight in feast

Here is what we can see at sunset from the mountains so far away.

BEAUTIFUL SEAGULL

I find all gulls beautiful even if they are nasty and mean at times.  They are definitely survivors and will do anything to grab food from other birds or humans.  I've seen them swoop down and grab food out of someone's hand while the  person was walking along enjoying their snack.  The first thing I do when I go to the coast is look for the gulls.  I took these last January at Shell Beach.

Soon, not sure when, I'll be heading back up the coast to enjoy more time with the shorebirds and of course family.

Until I do I have my photos from last January, many of which I'v'e never edited or posted.

MOM AND BABY AT THE CENTRAL COAST -

I don't think I put these on this blog before and if I did it's been years.

I have a whole series I want up so I can refer back to them for sketching.

This was on a trip up to Arroyo Grande/Pismo area of California.

This was in an area where there were "view" lots for sale and they sat behind a security gate which was open when we drove by one day.  I am so glad we went when we did because now the gate is closed to the public.

The views were beautiful and it was at a time a lot of the mother cows had given birth to their babies.
I'm so thankful I got these pics.
