Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time photographing them in flight. We are getting colder weather coming from the North so our nights will go down into the 30's. I hope to get out in awhile to go to the lake for a brisk walk. We have winds but so far nothing to keep me away from walking.
While Mike throws out duck food I try to catch them coming in for a landing.

That's a beauty! I still can't get over it that you get pelicans in the mountains!
I meant seagulls, but I know you get pelicans at some point also.
Such a stunning photo...how I adore seagulls!
Thank you so much for this...:))
Thanks Laura and Ygraine.
We had a pelican recently (just one) - Haven't seen any more lately but now a variety of ducks and shore birds will arrive as we get colder. The seagulls were late - they are usually here by the first of November and I was g etting worried that something was interfering with them showing up.
Beautiful! Love!!!
