Saw this bird at Big Bear Zoo yesterday - she was inside a big glass cage which was reflecting lights and the glass was smeared - but anyway I am a big fan now of this bird.
I had one photo but it was even more fuzzy which she was cocking her head in a curious way at what I was doing so close to the glass with my camera.

I don't think your photos are lousy; perhaps a little blurred but, to be honest, it gives the photos a misty character which I find quite attractive. Beautiful bird! :)

thanks Linda! I think it's such a cute bird - it's so small for being a falcon - I expect something bigger.
Aw. So cute. I wish she's free though.
That's a falcon? Surprising and so cute!
Oh how gorgeous she is!
I definitely wouldn't describe these photos as lousy though. I think the slight fuzziness makes then all the more atmospheric!
They are fabulous.:))
Hi Lux - they have 3 Kestrel's there that were injured and rehab'd but have been imprinted to humans (since they were tiny babies when found). So they will remain there - others have been set free. They try to rehab their animals and birds and then put them back out into the wild but sometimes they can't. I wish it was free also - can't imagine being a bird unable to fly free.
Kestrel's are the smallest of falcons.
thanks Ygraine - i agree - they are so pretty.
