THE SWEET LITTLE FAMILY

I hadn't seen this particular baby for two days during our walks but yesterday we found them kind of hidden near the shoreline on this stump.   Then we took a walk later in the day and saw them out swimming.  Naturally I took photos of them both times.  I particularly love these images of a peaceful family but yet the baby is either thirsty or feeling the need to discover what lies beneath the stump.

PRETTY BABY

Went to the wood boat show and car show over at Lake Arrowhead yesterday and found a mom with five cute kids.

Going to find a trail in a few minutes we haven't been on Blue Jay Canyon trail - don't know where it will lead.

We've have been over at the lake every day and just one baby duckling has shown up.

This is odd as the mothers usually have quite a big clutch of them, six to eight or more.  When there are only a few - I think the herons, ospreys, eagles, hawks and other shore birds are getting to them.

But I have gone crazy taking photos because if I don't see this little one again I'll have plenty of photos to enjoy.

I'll be posting a lot of this cute duckling.

A FAVORITE FROM THE OTHER DAY

Commenting on our "June" commitment - we did two good walks yesterday - early afternoon, late afternoon - and hope to continue this trend for awhile.

Off to walk in a bit even though the fog and clouds had rolled in earlier but I think it is burning off.  Really need to get the winter weight off.  (how clever was that - acting like i only have a weight problem in the winter (snicker)..
 

SUNSET IN APRIL FROM PALM SPRINGS AND BACK HOME TO THE MOUNTAINS

I have so many sunset photos I've never posted.  One day we were coming back from the Palm Springs area when this big sun was blinding us at times.  I loved the cloud formations around it and the rainbow/halo effect.
